Astrological Calendar

We’ve come to
expect a lot from a Llewellyn Astrological Calendar, and this one doesn’t
disappoint. In fact, it may be the most straightforward, useful one yet.
It’s all in there: every day shows the major daily aspects, moon’s sign
and phase, best planting and fishing days. Each month has the monthly
horoscope (by nature, in my opinion, too general to be of much use, but
fun to read anyway) next to an original illustration by T. W. Melcalf – I
don’t think much of the artwork, but maybe it’s just not my style. The
second half of the calendar has a nice guide to gardening by the moon,
travel forecasts, a complete 2007 ephemeris, a graphic retrograde table
and more. There’s a terrific Introduction to Astrology by Kim
Rogers-Gallagher, explaining the planets, signs, houses , aspects and
transits complete with aspect keywords – you won’t find more or better
information than this unless you step up to something like the A to Z
Horoscope Maker and Interpreter.
My mother is a professional astrologer and astrology
instructor, and she has to have the Llewellyn calendar for herself, and
recommends it to her students, every year. ‘Nuff said.
Three pentacles for the artwork, but that’s not a big issue
here. Five out of five for the calendar overall.
