Coming at this book with a minimum of knowledge about Druids, I have to say, Amber Wolfe provides an amazingly informative introduction to this vibrant, living path.  Interweaving stunning visualizations, detailed explorations of the five elements (to include spirit) and a plethora of mythological and historical information, she deftly builds a magnificent world of fantasy and magick around the reader, making one feel as though they have slipped into a warm bath of knowledge.  An extremely talented author, storyteller and teacher, Ms Wolfe brings the Celtic life into strong focus and gently leads the reader through its various avenues. 

On a personal level, when Ms Wolfe discusses "working with the archetypes," she describes a channeling process called "The Empty Chair" in which she speaks with "The Merlin" as a spirit guide of sorts.  I found it particularly interesting because years ago, I began working with a spirit guide called "Old Merlin" who provided me with a great deal of teaching and guidance.  When I was reading (in the book) the transcript of her conversation with The Merlin, the tone, inflection and personality style was identical to my own spirit guide.  Reading that part of her book was like meeting someone with whom you find you have a mutual old and dear friend.

That made me smile.
