Based on the German literary masterpiece, Das Narrenschiff (Ship of Fools) by Sebastian Brant, this tarot of woodcuttings, illustrated in simple line art is a good effort. It is loosely connecting (but not exclusively) with traditional interpretations of the cards, even going so far as to show the associated classic card along side the Ship of Fools card for comparison. The interpretations given are simple and concise, making it an easy to use system that would work well for the novice reader. If a person enjoys woodcuttings, this deck will be a joy for them. For me, they all started to look alike after the first 10-12 cards. My world is a colorful place and I like my Tarot decks to reflect that spectrum. Allowing for personal preference, I can definitely see the worth and functionality of this deck and... I give it: 4 pentacles out of 5 Review by Delena Rasbold |
