This is a friendly little book, as much at home in the Popular Psychology/Self Help section of the bookstore as on the Magic shelves. The first part, devoted to determining one’s authentic dreams and desires, is so personal growth-oriented that it is a bit jarring when the author unexpectedly mentions magic or a spell. The reader is advised to assess each of six areas – physical, spiritual, financial, mental, intuitive and social – separately, and then after prioritizing, make a clear and specific plan of action. This is accomplished through suggested writing exercises. The remainder of the book is more “magical” in nature, offering ways to boost the desired plan of action along with magic, usually involving written forms. There are bits of correspondences, color magic, astrology, numerology, mandalas, crystals, meditations and more, interspersed with anecdotes from the author’s teaching career and workshops. The spell creation suggestions are decidedly lighthearted (and non-Wiccan), to wit: “Becky’s gone and hurt her knee, We want it better, don’t you see?” and “Somehow Rachel’s lost her keys. Help us find them, pretty please.” Webster’s book is extremely practical, positive and easy to use. For those who have had enough theoretical mumblings and analytical labyrinths and just want to get on with the business of getting their lives right, this straightforward approach is just the ticket
